Great stocking-stuffer: “shirts that make a difference in the life of an orphan”
Chris and Lindsey Wheeler, one of Carolina Hope’s families, are raising money for their Guatemala adoption by selling some über-cool t-shirts at ellieDub.com: Mission Tailored Clothing.
I’ve known about the site for a couple weeks, but I didn’t realize that this was a Carolina Hope family. When I found out, I decided to run a blog post about it. (Okay, it’s true: I’m hoping someone in my family reads this and buys me one. I like the Men’s Antigua design, Cafe color. Medium.)
I know it’s too late to buy one to give by Christmas day, but who says you have to give all your gifts on the 25th?
Lindsey wrote the following in an email to friends and family:
Most of you know that Chris and I are in the middle of an adoption of Eliana Hope from Guatemala! It has already been a wild journey of faith….and we still have a long way to go! Adoptions cost a lot of money….but I have realized that God knows exactly how much we need…..and is not surprised by one bill. Chris and I started dreaming this summer about ways to raise support. I have always loved cool t-shirts….and began dreaming of this site. Around this time, the Lord brought the most amazing friends to us, Amelia and Scott Moore. And they happened to be the most creative, talented, fun, deep, humble people ever!! It was an instant connection….and we were able to travel to Guatemala with them in September. They have jumped on board with us to create this site.
In a follow-up email, Lindsey told me that after the New Year they plan to expand their selection by offering shirts with other country themes to help additional adoptive families raise funds. Stayed tuned for updates.
You can learn more about Chris and Lindsey (and their adoption) at the Mission section of the ellieDub.com website.
(Disclaimer: Carolina Hope does not benefit from the sale of these t-shirts, and this is not a Carolina Hope fundraiser. All funds raised by the Wheelers are applied to aspects of their adoption at their own discretion. This blog post is simply a way to make our readers aware of these very cool shirts.)
