Conference: Ethics of International Adoption
This from the Joint Council on International Children’s Services:
Joint Council Announcement
Program: Professional Enrichment
Announcement Date: September 12, 2007
Regarding: Ethica & Evan B Donaldson Conference on Ethics
Joint Council’s Tom DiFilipo and over 20 Joint Council members will be speaking at the Adoption Ethics and Accountability Conference, sponsored by Joint Council Member Organizations Evan B Donaldson and Ethic Inc. The conference is in Arlington VA on October 15 & 16.
In speaking with Trish Maskew of Ethica, the conference will attempt to provide a wide range of opinions and perspectives on intercountry adoption. The varying challengers to intercountry adoption combined with the large number of Joint Council Member Organizations (see below) speaking at the conference, should make the dialogue most interesting. All Joint Council Member Organizations are both welcomed and encouraged to attend. Detailed information can be found at the Adoption Ethics and Accountability conference website.
As you can see, the conference will include professionals who support international adoption and professionals who would like to see international adoption curtailed. The conference is open to all, including prospective adoptive parents and families who have already adopted.
