We are pleased to announce that, effective April 13, 2009, Carolina Hope Christian Adoption Agency has become part of Nightlight Christian Adoptions, and our office will be operated as the South Carolina branch office of Nightlight. Information on this website (www.CarolinaHopeAdoption.org) about the adoption services that were formerly provided by Carolina Hope remains accurate — but these services are now rendered by our office as a part of Nightlight Christian Adoptions. Online video course: Starting the Adoption Homestudy

Carolina Hope is pleased to announce the online release of its first pre-recorded online education course, The Adoption Homestudy.

This course (which is accompanied by PDFs of the slides) is divided into three sections:

  1. What is the adoption homestudy?
  2. What is addressed in the adoption homestudy?
  3. The international adoption homestudy

For the last several months, Carolina Hope has been offering live online adoption education courses. The advantage of these live courses (delivered as webinars, which involve a conference call and screen sharing over the internet) is that participants can interact with the presenter and with other participants. The disadvantage is that you can only take the courses on the days and at the times that they’re available. (We’ve made this easier by offering some of the courses three days in a row, each day at a different time.)

This new educational opportunity — the prerecorded virtual adoption seminar — is a great resource for preparing yourself for an adoption homestudy — and it’s provided as a free service of Carolina Hope to clients and non-clients alike.

Carolina Hope’s Laura Beauvais-Godwin is the main presenter, along with Joshua Jensen (me). We hope that many prospective adoptive families will benefit from this virtual adoption seminar.
