My wife and I are very excited to hear this news as well, as we've been talking about adopting from an African country and Ethiopia is near the top of our list! Thanks for informing us of these great developments at Carolina Hope.

Do you happen to know if the policy of youngest child in the family being older than 24 months is an Ethiopian country policy (or the specific agency policy we were looking into)? This would affect my wife and I greatly as we're planning to bring home a newborn through domestic infant adoption in the next month or so.

Thanks!

Dan:

My heart leaped for joy as I read this post. The Lord never ceases to amaze me in revealing His will to my wife and me.

We have been talking pretty regularly for a year about adopting a child from Ethiopia, but have only found one agency that we were willing to work through -- we haven't gone forward with anything, but were always wishing that Carolina Hope was tied into Ethiopia. God has worked within us to cultivate a strong desire to adopt an African child (or perhaps two brothers)!

I would love to e-mail you regarding this. Our primary interest is in orphans that are maybe a few years old (4 or 5), but I see that you only mentioned babies. We are looking to maybe begin the process early-mid 2008.

I have been reading this blog since day 1 and have loved everything about what you are writing. What a joy it would be to partner in this endeavor! God is good, and we are encouraged. Thank you for what you do. If you have a chance, I would love to receive an e-mail from you.

Soli Deo Gloria!
