Uganda Update: A Few Photos

Tuesday from Uganda

Yesterday I visited Mama Mary’s house. Mama Mary, a former Muslim, she felt called by the Lord to take care of orphans after accepting the Lord. She now has 38 children in her home.

A Call to Uganda

Lisa Prather will be traveling to Uganda next week as a representative of Nightlight Christian Adoptions. Her goal is to make contact with adoption professionals and visit a few orphanages.

Interview with Matt Thien: 10 Songs 10 Days Africa

Matt Thien’s most recent CD project 10 Songs 10 Days Africa was established to benefit the Tumaini Mission Center in Nakuru, Kenya, home to over 100 orphans. Matt spoke with us regarding the inspiration for his project and how the gospel has influenced his view of humanitarian aid and orphan care.

Ukraine Orphan Christmas Tour

Carolina Hope for Orphans is organizing a Christmas Tour for Ukrainian Orphans; the children will be in the States from December 26 to January 9, and host families in South Carolina (or anywhere within a 2-hour driving distance of Greenville, SC) are needed.

Nightlight is helping to spearhead the all-day workshop, Your Church and the Orphan. The goal of the workshop is to provide church members with the necessary information and tools to explore how your church can effectively minister to orphans and waiting children.

This no-cost luncheon is to give you, the churches’ leaders, the courage and vision to challenge your congregations to take part in an orphan ministry. With your encouragement, your members can attend the all-day workshop on Saturday, October 17th.

Together for Adoption Conference: just 2 and 1/2 months away!

Nightlight Christian Adoptions will be an exhibitor at the 2009 Together for Adoption Conference, held October 2-3 in Franklin, TN. The conference goal is to further mobilize and equip Christians to care for orphans in the name of Jesus.

Orphan Care Summer Tour

Every year Nightlight brings children to Southern California from orphanages overseas. In past years we have brought children from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. This summer we will be bringing children from Taiwan. Excited boys and girls from 6-11 years of age will be joining us for two weeks in July.
