Making a tax-deductible donation

Carolina Hope has three ways for you to donate:

1. Send a check to Carolina Hope’s street address.
2. Donate on-line by credit card (PayPal).
   Select the cause to which you wish to donate, then click the “Donate” button. You will be taken to a secure site where you can make your donation. (Before donating here, go to our Ethiopia Group Home Needs page. There you can donate towards a specific item needed for the maintenance of the group home Carolina Hope supports in Ethiopia.)

3. Donate on-line through Google Checkout.
   If you donate online using Google Checkout, the entire donation amount will go to the cause for which you donate it, without the deduction of fees charged by credit cards and PayPal (about 3% of your donation). However, you need a Google Checkout account (if you don’t already have one) before you donate. The process is simple and quick. For an Ethiopia donation made through Google Checkout, please email or call Carolina Hope to specify which project you wish your donation to support.

Our commitment

Carolina Hope collects donations only for causes with which we have a direct connection, and which our director has visited personally. Those who handle donated funds have demonstrated personal integrity and a passion for humanitarian work. We obtain updates and reports about how donated funds are used, and we make those available to individual donors, as requested. Once Carolina Hope receives your donation - whether it comes through the mail or online - we will issue a receipt that you can use to claim a tax deduction. Disclaimers

Just as Carolina Hope cannot guarantee that the Postal Service will properly deliver a check that you mail to us, we cannot ensure that an online payment will be successful. However, both PayPal and Google Checkout are established services with outstanding track records in terms of reliability. In the rare instance that a payment problem should occur with either service, let us know. Please resolve any problems directly with the payment service.

While we do not expect to make substantial changes to Carolina Hope’s policies regarding donations, the policies are subject to change without prior notice. Changes will be posted to this page.

Carolina Hope may in the future choose to stop supporting a particular cause. In that case, donated moneys not yet transferred to the cause will be returned to the individual donor, unless that donor asks in writing for the funds to be directed to another cause supported by Carolina Hope.
