History with the Agency
Joshua has been with Carolina Hope since the spring of 2005. He began working as a case manager for China adoptions and as the editor for agency publications immediately. At the end of 2006, he began working with Guatemala adoptions, and he became Coordinator for International Programs at the beginning. He resigned from his position as Programs Coordinator effective August 3, 2007, in preparation for moving to Texas to begin his PhD program in linguistics. He will continue to assist Carolina Hope with the development of print and online publications.

Interests
Joshua’s primary interest is linguistics, the scientific study of language. In the spring of 2006, Joshua spent 3 months in Ratanakiri, Cambodia, studying Khmer (the national language of Cambodia) and researching Jarai, a minority language in Cambodia and Vietnam. Joshua hopes that he can someday work full-time in Cambodia. More information about his fieldwork with Jarai is available at his website.
