Webinar Explanation

An Explanation of Webinars

What is a webinar?

A webinar is a conference call in which the presenter talks to you by phone while you watch a program on your computer screen. Sometimes there are more multiple presenters, but there is always one main person who leads the conference call.

How do I “hook” into the webinar?

You will need to call a special number, then enter the pass code. You will also need to click on a link just before the start of the webinar so that you can see the program on your computer screen as well.

How long do most webinars last?

Most will last about 1 hour and 15 minutes, and there will also be about 10-15 minutes of extra written information for you to read before or after the webinar.

You can read this extra information about the educational topic when you are waiting for everyone to get on the telephone line. If you get on the telephone line a little late, you can read this information after the webinar is finished.

Can I get educational credit for these webinars?

Yes, you can get educational certificates for participating in these webinars.

Do I have to talk or answer questions during the webinar?

No, you do not have to participate during the webinar. You can ask questions or contribute if you want.

If you want, you can mute yourself, so that no one can hear you or any background noises—such as your dog barking or a child crying.

How much does it cost to attend a webinar?

Each webinar has its own fee schedule. Some are free. Each webinar page has the fee listed and instructions for paying by PayPal.

If you are a Carolina Hope client, you do not need to pay for the adoption education webinars. These  programs are free of charge to you.
