The Adoption Homestudy: Starting the Process
About this online adoption education course
Next Adoption Homestudy webinar date & time: TBA 7 p.m. (EST)
The home study can appear to be very daunting to families and can create a lot of fear. We want to take the mystery out of the home study. We will provide an overview of what is included in a home study and show what forms must be completed. Also, there will be discussion of how to address sensitive issues arising from infertility, a background of divorce, a history of having been victimized by abuse (for prospective adoptive parents), and a criminal history (in a prospective adoptive parent’s background).
This 1-and-a-half-hour course is presented by Laura Beauvais-Godwin, Carolina Hope’s director and co-author of The Complete Adoption Book. As an adoptive mother of two daughters and a certified home study provider in South Carolina, Laura thoroughly understands home studies.
