History with the Agency
As an undergraduate psychology major, Amanda’s main focus was exceptional children’s needs and education. After doing missions work in Guatemala and studying for a year in Sicily and Rome, she became increasingly passionate about children’s issues and international mission work. She loves the idea of bringing families together through adoption, and she happened upon Carolina Hope’s website one day. “I was drawn to Carolina Hope’s position that as we are adopted into Christ’s family, [so] we can imitate that by adopting children into ours,” she says. Amanda has been an intern at Carolina Hope since the beginning of February.

Interests
Amanda loves to travel and do missions and disaster relief work at home and abroad. She also loves old movies (especially Alfred Hitchcock!), books, photography, and art museums. She enjoys playing golf, visiting friends and family, and going to the mountains as much as possible. Amanda is an emergency room volunteer at St. Francis Hospital.
